Project title: Modernization of production processes through digital and green technologies of the company Drnišplast

 

Short description of the project

For many years, Drnišplast d.d. has been producing polyethylene pipes that are of the highest standards and characteristics and, due to their performance, make Drnišplast a regional leader in the industry. In order to maintain its market position in order for the company to continue its upward path and ensure resilience to changes in technology and competition, and aware of the importance of investing in modern production technology, the project innovates and digitizes the production process and introduces a new green and efficient business model with the aim of improving the production of polyethylene pipes.

Important equipment and software are being purchased that will enable digital transition with special emphasis on optimizing production phases which will also enable resource efficiency and reduce the production of waste in the process while increasing the use of recyclables in production. So, the result is implementation of modern technology, organizational and process changes which in sum contributes to digital and green transformation of the company.

The project introduces a new green business model with a clear result of the overall reduction of material resources needed in the production of final products and through the contribution to the circular economy and the reuse of raw waste materials from production. This project will be a turning point in the development of the company and the complete effort will be focused on improving the business model, but also a powerful strengthening of the production capacity of the production line.

 

 

Objectives and expected results of the project

• The main goal of the project is to improve the competitiveness of Drnišplast by introducing digital and green digital technologies and to ensure increased production, market growth and resilience to change through transformation with help of a new business model.
• Furthermore, the goal is innovation of the production process - extrusion and production of pipes, which will result in the purchase of gravimetry machines, ultrasonic control devices, extractors for extruder lines, semi-automatic winder and Ink-jet printer.
• Next objective is the innovation of the production process of processing and granulation of industrial waste, which will result in acquisition of a device for granulation with water and a crane for handling cargo.
• The plan is to implement an overall digital transformation of the organization through procurement of different machines, which will be achieved also by implementation of new software for monitoring production and software for horizontal integration of functions, which will fully contribute to the digitalization of production.

Total value of the project: HRK 10,486,270.11, of which HRK 3,251,398.14 through Recovery Assistance for Cohesion and European Areas "REACT-EU" from the European Regional Development Fund through the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion.

Project implementation period: 01.08.2021. – 01.08.2023.
